In a hurry but want a delicious home cooked Hamburger Stroganoff meal that your family will love? Try this easy recipe using cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. It only takes 30 minutes to make!
To make this family favorite (at least in my home), use this guide and the ingredients you will need. This meal will make 4 servings.
How to Make Hamburger Stroganoff from Scratch
1 lb. lean hamburger (thawed)
1 Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom/Cream of Chicken combo can
8 oz. sour cream
3 cups instant rice or egg noodles
Start instant rice or egg noodles so that they are ready by the time the meat sauce is ready.
Brown your hamburger (we substitute this with bison because bison is leaner and healthier).
Mix in your can of cream of mushroom/chicken soup and sour cream.
Turn heat to low-medium (you’ll need to watch as this dish could easily burn or stick especially toward the end of the meal). When the color of the sauce turns from a light colored sauce to a darker sauce (usually within 10-15 mins), taste it. If you still taste the sour cream, it’s not done yet. My sister likes the sour cream taste so she chooses to pull it off the stove before I would. Pour your Hamburger Stroganoff over noodles or rice and viola, you’re done.
Add a salad and veggie on the side and you have a yummy home cooked meal. Enjoy!
