Who doesn’t love a nice big cup of flavored coffee. What if you could make your own coffee creamer at home? It’s more a treat than anything else. Most of the time I prefer it unsweetened and black; however there are days when I crave a coffee syrup or flavored coffee as a special treat.
Flavored coffees and syrups can be expensive, which is why I learned to make homemade coffee creamer at home. One way you can make your own coffee flavor is by making a simple syrup which is the base for any coffee creamer.

Another delicious flavored simple syrup for coffee is pumpkin! This is particularly wonderful to have on hand during the winter months. Again, just add a teaspoon of pumpkin extract, or if you can’t find it, a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. For a rich cinnamon simple syrup, use a teaspoon of cinnamon and replace white sugar with brown sugar for an absolutely indulgent flavor.
To make homemade flavored coffee, purchase a bag of good whole coffee beans. When you grind them, add flavors of your choice. Try dried fruit and almonds in the coffee grinder. You can also grind coffee beans with cinnamon, pumpkin spice or cocoa beans. If you enjoy the taste of oranges, shave orange zest in to your ground coffee. Extracts can also be added to coffee beans when you grind them, giving you flavor options such as vanilla, anise, black walnut, butter rum, brandy or caramel.
