Take a look at these cute turkey cupcakes. Tell me they don’t make you want to run out to the store right now and grab a box of cake mix, frosting and candy corn. I’ll be picking mine up tomorrow along with my 20 lb. turkey. I’ve seen different versions of this adorable dessert.
I love that Betty Crocker made a video to show us how … and it looks easy. Click the link Turkey Cupcakes to see step by step how to make them.
You’ll get more tips on how to save time on Thanksgiving Day by making cupcakes ahead of time and freezing them. Then take them out of the freezer the morning of, let thaw and that way you don’t need to take up your needed oven space on Thanksgiving Day. We all know how that goes. The last step is decorating them to your liking.
Turkey Cupcakes Tips
One of the things that you can do to plump up the top of your turkey is plant a surprise on top of the cupcake, like a peanut butter cup and cover it with icing. The Betty Crocker video adds a lot more icing, instead. Some put a small chocolate cookie for the head sticking up instead of doing it the way the Betty Crocker website suggests. As for me, I’ll be doing things the easiest and most cost effective way, since I’ll be doubling my turkey cupcakes and giving a dozen to my neighbor. You could bless almost anyone with these… such a fun dessert to make.
Here’s one more variation that requires a little more preparation (different from the Betty Crocker video). Whichever version you decide to try, I’m sure you’ll impress and your children (should they be included) will have a great time, too. Enjoy!
